This 0.5 mile greenway borders Lake Windermere and Dorothy Lake on the south edge of Invermere, BC. The greenway loop provides scenic views of the lake, nesting ospreys, sunbathing painted turtles and grazing deer. The trail loops Pynelogs, a heritage site and the cultural arts centre as well as the Botanical Gardens. The Botanical Gardens features an active vegetable and flower garden cultivated by volunteers in the community as a model for sustainable living.

This trail loops around Pynelogs, built in 1914 for Robert Randolf Bruce and his bride Lady Elizabeth. Pynelogs housed Invermere's first hospital and now is home to concerts and an art gallery featuring local and internationally acclaimed artists. Perennial gardens border Pynelogs, some over-wintering in the area since the 1920's. The local garden includes Purple Prince and Yellow Pear tomatoes, red sunflowers and prolific wild strawberries.

The trail passes by osprey nesting platforms and you will likely see a mother osprey feeding her fledglings with fish harvested from Lake Windermere. The lake features painted turtles, often seen sunbathing on log rafts. Seniors and those under 16 can fish from the Dorothy Lake dock. This relaxing walk teams perfectly with a trip into Invermere's quaint downtown of art galleries, boutique shops and cafes.

This trail is located next to Kinsmen Beach, featuring boating, swimming, volleyball and other recreational activities. Likely you will meet others on the trail on a hot summer day, however in the fall, winter and spring you will likely have the trail to yourself.

The trail is a safe, easily accessible compacted gravel surface.

The trail passes by Columbia Valley grassland, landscaped areas, planted flowers, vegetables and herbs, as well as Douglas Fir stands.

This greenway is located on the south end of Invermere, 3 hours southwest of Calgary, AB and 1.5 hours north of Cranbrook, BC. From Highway 93/95 head west into Invermere and continue through the downtown core along 7th Avenue. Continue south to Kinsmen Beach along 7A Avenue onto Beach Drive and the trailhead is located on the east edge of the parking lot.
