Confirming my earlier review...this place ROCKS!!! Not quite the best biscuits and gravy, but likely my second favorite. Everything cooked nicely and seasoned perfectly. Dependable and friendly staff---you can always trust you'll get a great meal here!

YUM! This is the best breakfast west of the Misissippi. I'd eat there every day if I could. If you haven't tried it, you are missing a real treat. Don't miss the Kansas City Bacon!

Thanks for this note, Lisa. The new dinner menu is great - I really enjoyed the steak salad. The new menus can now be viewed and downloaded from this page.

Brief Description of Establishment

The Buffalo Cafe has been a favorite Whitefish meeting place for locals and visitors since 1980. Homegrown specialties riff off a central theme: Heaping plates of potatoes, eggs, chorizo, and tortillas, a unique Mexican-Montana blend.

Charlie and Linda Maetzold are in charge until 2 p.m. for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast is served until closing.

In 2008, the Maetzold sons, Andy and Alex, opened the Buffalo for dinner after winning a beer and wine license lottery. For the first time ever, the Buffalo is open for dinner. It was a bit of a shock to the locals, but Whitefish folks are a resilient bunch and they soon adjusted.
