Description of Lake or River

Canoe rentals are available for shoreline bear spotting.

The southern tip of this lake crosses the U.S.-Canada border, but don't worry about carrying your passport. A ridge climb to the west will bring you into British Columbia.

Hikers can stroll a lakeside trail, or use an adjacent trailhead to begin the Carthew-Alderson hike back to the Waterton town site. A few hundred meters back down the Akamina Parkway, another trailhead will take you 1 kilometre west across the low Akamina Pass into B.C.

Driving Directions from Nearest Town or Landmark

From Waterton Park village, drive 16 km (10 mile) to the end of Akamina Parkway.
