Town Celebration or Festival
The Crowsnest Pass Doors Open and Heritage Festival takes place throughout the Crowsnest Pass. Some of the events and activities take place over the entire four-day weekend (Friday-Monday), and other events are on specific days. The event tries to focus on each of the communities that make up the Municipality of Crowsnest Pass. On Friday, August 1, Frank will be the focus, with special events at the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre. On Saturday, Coleman is in the spotlight, followed by Bellevue and Hillcrest on Sunday. On Monday, August 4, attention shifts to Blairmore. A special edition newspaper highlights all of the weekend's activities. A PDF version of the newspaper will be available from the Frank Slide Interpretive Centre website at www.frankslide.com in July.
The Municipality of Crowsnest Pass is located in the southwest corner of Alberta. Highway 3 (Crowsnest Highway) runs through Crowsnest Pass and its five component communities (Bellevue, Hillcrest, Frank, Blairmore and Coleman). Activities on the Crowsnest Pass Doors Open and Heritage Festival weekend take place in all five communities. The special edition newspaper has maps of all of the communities.
