A naturalist and all-season outdoor guide for more than 20 years, Julie develops hiking programs for those new to the wilderness experience.

Full Circle Adventures offers affordable hiking vacations, eco-tours and girlfriend getaways in the front ranges of the Canadian Rockies. Guided hiking vacations include wildflower and edible plant walks and interpretive hikes to ancient indigenous sites or important wildlife habitat. Julie also offers nature workshops, spiritual retreats, and family and school programs.

Julie is certified in Wilderness First Aid, is a member of the Interpretive Guides Association, the Canadian Association of Nordic Ski Instructors a member of the Alberta Council For Environmental Education

Upcoming events:

August 16, 23 and 30 – Ridge Walks of the Eastern Rockies. Touch the sky on these scenic, moderate ridge walks along the eastern slopes of the Rockies. Discover how close the sub-alpine and alpine habitats are from your door as we take in an Eagle’s eye view from the mountains and foothills west of Calgary. Locations Powderface ridge, Plateau Mtn., Nihahi ridge. Price: $60 per person per hike, $175 for the series of three.

September 12, 26, October 3, 2009 Mountain Lakes of the Canadian Rockies
Take in the autumn colors on these glorious fall hikes to the sub-alpine habitats. The Larch trees only grow at higher elevations, where the air is thinner and the light is brighter.
These are full day but moderate outings to some of the most beautiful lakes in Kananaskis Country. Locations: Chester Lake, Rawson Lake, Rae Lake. Cost: $60 each hike or $175 for the series.

September 18, 19 and 20th - As part of the Dames on the Range partnership, Full Circle Adventures offers Women’s Rite of Passage weekend - a nature spirit adventure. Using the teachings of nature, shared with the white culture, you have the opportunity to leave behind the high speed, noise and confusion of everyday life. The gift of self knowledge and quality time in nature is a gift to the spirit. Price: $425 all inclusive with lodging at guest ranches along the Cowboy Trail on Alberta's eastern slope.

October 17, 24 Fall Wildlife Interpretive Hikes.
Where has the wildlife gone? Find out who stays over winter and where. Learn what happens to many critters that disappear over winter, on these fun nature immersion hikes in the Eastern Slopes of the Canadian Rockies. Locations: Dyson Falls, Coal Mine Trail.Cost: $60 each hike or $110 for both.

Full Circle Adventures supports the local eco-system by contributing a percentage of the company's green profits to the Bow River Basin Council.

I had been waiting for years to hike the Whaleback and Julie's knowledge, wisdom and thoughtful approach made it an even better experience than I had anticipated. My husband and I had a wonderful time and are still talking about it. As a bonus, now I know the names of several of the wildflowers on our acreage.
