Visit the City Bakery where authentic German breads and pastries are created on Kimberley's pedestrian mall, the Platzl.. Best known for their apple strudel, pretzels and meat pies, the City Bakery also offers soups and sandwiches. Outdoor seating is offered as well as inside the restaurant.
Let your nose be your guide you as you enter the Kimberley City Bakery. Known for its authentic German breads and pastries, it has arguably the best apple strudel in all of Canada, if not North America.
The aroma of fresh baked breads lasts all day, but it is best to get there when they first open, to enjoy a warm strudel or pretzel.
Open for lunch, the City Bakery offers a smorgasbord of soups, sandwiches, meat pies and, of course, fresh bread and pastries.
Grab a treat for the road and walk through the Kimberley Platzl. Modelled on an Alpine theme, the Platzl has an European village atmosphere and features Canada's largest free standing Cuckoo Clock.
A timber-frame bandstand for live performances is located in the centre of the Platzl. If you choose outdoor seating, you'll be sure to hear the entertainment during a city festival.
