Description of Lodging Property

Enjoy nature and an enchanting Rocky Mountain view from this private, fully equipped cabin located on Stoney (Hahas) Lake. The 40 acre lake side goat ranch of Christa & Alfred Etzel is heaven for their free-roaming goat herd. The guest cottage is a renovated old homestead and in a visible distance of Etzel's new log home. The Last Paradise Ranch welcomes nature and wildlife enthusiasts to enjoy this unique and peaceful setting.

Each season here offers a variety of nearby activities: Wildlife & bird watching, horseback riding, fishing, canoeing, hiking, swimming, and mountain biking in spring, summer and fall. In the winter, enjoy snowshoeing, ice fishing, cross country skiing, or simply relaxing by the fire.

The southern Rocky Mountain Trench is bounded on the east by the Rocky Mountains and on the west by the Purcell Mountains. Its varied topography and climate support a remarkable range of ecosystems, from dry grasslands to alpine tundra. This exceptional diversity of habitat types and wildlife species makes it one of the most biologically complex regions of Canada. It is a place of wonder for anyone who relishes the outdoors.
