Campground or Cabin Description

Now serving as a seasonal work station, the building has been restored to its 1930s ranger station grandeur. The trailhead has year round access, providing one of the few places where people can drive to the edge of the backcountry in the winter. The Ranger Station is available for rent during October thru March. A short walk up the trail reveals a magnificant stand of old growth larch, and a little farther to walk through the effects of a wildfire. During Sept-Oct observe outfitters and horseback people packing to and from hunting camps.
