Experience culture and tranquility in the only traditional Japanese meditation garden in Southern Alberta! This authentic, quality Japanese meditation garden offers an unforgettable experience. A host, in traditional Japanese clothing, greets visitors at the gate and explains the Garden’s structures, artifacts and features. From the first spring apple blossom to the final autumn leaf, the Garden is an oasis of tranquility.
The pavilion, patterned after 17th century architecture, was handcrafted in Kyoto, Japan of aromatic yellow cypress, dismantled, and reassembled in Lethbridge without the use of nails. Exhibits and cultural programs including the tea ceremony are held weekends throughout the season (May 10 to Oct 13, 2008).
Enjoy the beauty of nature in this serene setting, listen to the soothing ripple of the stream, the breeze rustling the leaves and feel the stress slipping from your body and mind. Leave relaxed and refreshed.
