Afternoon tea, British style, makes this 1927 architectural expression of rustic grandeur a restful vantage point for your contemplation of Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park.
Perched on a promontory overlooking stunning Waterton Lake, this European-style, seven-story hotel's lobby windows frame a view of the seven-mile-long string of mountains that ring the lake. Built in 1927, the hotel was named for Great Britain's King Edward VIII, while he was Prince of Wales. This National Historic Site (Canada) has 86 rooms and is a good base for wilderness hiking, horseback rides and boat tours.
The hotel is owned and operated by Glacier Park inc.

I recently visited the Prince of Wales Hotel. While Mr. Occhiogrosso makes some fair points, I found the staff to be professional as well as courteous. I suspect that Mr. Occhiogrosso visited early in the season when new staff were on the steep part of the learning curve. By August, I found little to fault in the way of service. A night at the Prince of Wales is an experience that can't be matched anywhere else. It is a bit pricey, but it will be an experience you'll never forget. The setting and architecture produce memories that will last a lifetime.
