The Nature Conservancy runs this ranch resort to share Rocky Mountain Front views and biodiversity and to fund additions to the 100,000 acres (40,500 ha) of ranchland already protected from development along Montana’s Rocky Mountain Front.
Pine Butte Guest Ranch offers a unique opportunity to study natural history as well as ride, hike, swim, and relax in one of the country's most spectacular western landscapes . Traditional western ranch experiences, great food, unique cabins, and gentle horses are ingredients for fond memories on the Rocky Mountain Front. Guests who are interested in furthering their knowledge of the outdoors with be most pleased with the professional instructors, wranglers, naturalists and staff.
Nestled among the peaks of Montana's rugged Rocky Mountain Front, Pine Butte Guest Ranch has a wide variety of cabins able to accommodate small groups or large families. The ranch hosts workshops in the spring and fall that range from 3 to 7 days. During the summer months, guests make arrangements for a week long stay. Sunday through Sunday. The ranch style meals have a wide array of descriptions ranging from full and hearty, gourmet, nutritional, organic, made from scratch, to healthy and delicious. Many of guests are strangers when they arrive but leave knowing they're part of the family.

The staff at Pine Butte Guest Ranch takes great pride in carrying on the tradition of hospitality, comfort and friendliness as well as respect for the magnificent country that surrounds the ranch. Discover more about the Rocky Mountain Front through interpretive workshops such as grizzly bears, ethnobotany, wildlife, birds, and wildflowers. Enjoy the unique gift shop and book store, take a dip in the heated pool, go for a hike with the naturalists, join others in the lodge for the (always interesting) evening presentations or take a ride in the vans to watch for wildlife at dusk. Shuttle service from the Great Falls Airport is offered.

Pine Butte Guest Ranch is located on the South Fork Teton Road. 28 miles west of Choteau, Montana. Take US Highway 89 north out of Choteau approximately 5 miles, midway between mile posts 46 and 57, turn left onto paved Teton River Road. Follow the road west for 17 miles, take a left off the paved road onto a gravel road. Go approximately 0.3 mile and take a right, you will have crossed a bridge. Go 3 miles up this road, just before the next bridge veer left and you will be on the ranch driveway, continue up the driveway to the ranch buildings.

"The Path of the Great Bear" workshop was a wonderful experience! The ranch is lovely, the accomdations are very comfortable and the food delicious. The staff is passionate about their mission, very knowledgable about the ecosystem as well as kind and friendly. We had a perfect week!
