Grown-ups are advised to bring along at least one young boy or girl as cover for possible excessive enthusiasm in the personal rediscovery of toy trains. This must certainly be among the biggest and best stocked stores anywhere outside of Germany for the LGB line of large-scale locomotives and cars. There is a generous representation of other makers' products, particularly those modeling Canadian railway and U.S. railroads (yes, proper Canadian english employs the Britishism railways).

In the big yard behind the store, Ultimate Trains operates a complex large-scale layout comprising an impossible admixture of eras and geographies. There's a small charge of $4 adult, $2 child to visit the railway, and it's worth it.

The shop also specializes in Thomas the Tank Engine products for actual children.
