Volunteers are needed for a variety of tasks, such as livestock handing, hosting special events, digging for artifacts, and gardening.
The Bar U Ranch National Historic Site, managed by Parks Canada, recognizes that there is strength in numbers - especially if those numbers are made up of dedicated volunteers. Thousands of hours are donated to the ranch by its outstanding volunteer core. Volunteers participate in an array of programs from livestock handling and hosting special event activities, to digging for artifacts and gardening.Contact the site if you are interested in helping out.

Help preserve a place in time by becoming a member of the Friends of the Bar U Historic Ranch Association. This group is a volunteer organization dedicated to working in partnership with Parks Canada to increase western ranching heritage awareness. The Friends of the Bar U assist Parks Canada with the site's volunteer program, run the Pekisko Creek Gift Shop, and head up fundraising activities. The major goal of Friends of the Bar U Historic Ranch Association is to work in partnership with Parks Canada for the preservation, protection and enhancement of the Bar U Ranch N.H.S , now and in the future.
