Whitefish Lake is a 7 mile long glacial lake located in Whitefish, Montana. One of the most popular public accesses is CIty Beach located near the lake's outflow. The park has a sandy beach, designated swimmng area, docks, gazebos, and picnic tables. In the summer, lifeguards are provided during the day and boat rentals are available The Parks and Recreation department provides a refreshment stand also. A public boat dock is available with docking fee.
Paved Road
A boat launch area is provided at City Beach. There is a fee to launch. One cannot fish in the swimming area.
Boat rentals are available- canoes and paddle boats. They are not allowed in the designated swimming area. From the launch area, one can paddle along the lake shore or boat down the Whitefish River.
Highway 93 to Whitefish. Turn onto Baker Avenue and go North over the viaduct. Turn left onto Edgewood Drive at the light at the bottom of the viaduct . Follow Edgewood for 1/2 mile to the entrance to City Beach. Parking area provided.
Follow directions to City Beach. Boat launch area is across from the parking lot.
No fishing is allowed in the swimming area.

One is allowed to swim in just a tiny area that is roped off! I would like some more freedom. What's the point of swimming in a natural body of water when you are roped in like an animal for slaughter? I should be able to take the responsibility for my safety and swim outside of the odious, enslaving ropes!
